Overview of Figure Skating
Are you just starting in figure skating? Aspire Figure Skating is a great place to start! These classes are designed for skaters new to figure skating, and it develops the foundations of competitive figure skating skills through off ice and on ice classes. Classes are designed for skaters ages 4-12 years old. Skaters should already have skated before (preferably they have passed Snowplow Sam 3 or Basic 2 in our Skate School classes), and they should wear figure skates to class.

2.) Figure Skating Training Time
If you are looking more in skating, then you match up with a coach and use our training ice time to take lessons from your coach and to practice in a figure skating environment. If you are looking for a coach, please contact us at info@premierskatingacademy.com for help.
Other figure skaters are also allowed on our ice time. Skaters can either be a “Member” or use a “Visitor Pass” to skate on our ice time. All skaters must apply HERE to skate. Skaters must apply during the weekdays, and please expect a response in about 48 hrs. Please plan your practice and lessons accordingly.
Our ice time in the school year is 6-9 am and 11:50-2:50 pm Monday-Friday at the St. Thomas Arena in Mendota Heights.
3.) Figure Skating Development Training
Once you have a coach and have purchased an Ice Time Membership, you are eligible to enroll in any of our Figure Skating Development classes that are offered by individual coaches to help further your specific figure skating development needs.
Aspire Figure Skating!
Aspire Figure Skating is a great place to start if you have never figure skated before or if you are a beginner figure skater! Skaters must be between the ages of 4-12 years old to do this class. This class will give you a competitive foundation in figure skating and aim at exercises and skills that. help with the axel jump!

Fee: $90 for 5 classes

Figure Skating Training Time!
Once you have a coach, you are welcome to join our figure skating ice times! School year ice times are 6-9 am Monday-Friday and 11:50-2:50 pm Monday-Friday at the St. Thomas Arena in Mendota Heights, MN.
Summer 2026 ice time is TBD, but will be announced soon!
Ice time is done through memberships and visitors passes.
Memberships Include:
A flat membership rate so you know your ice time costs upfront. Memberships vary from $100-$500/month*.
Recommendations on what membership fits your skating will be sent to you after you fill out the
application form!
Memberships are very flexible in what day you skate and for how long~ no contracts or
being locked into skating at certain times.
Access to Figure Skating Development classes (on and off ice)
Priority in any performances, exhibitions, seminars, camps or other opportunities PSA offers.
No extra fees to virtual test on PSA ice time.
Visitors Passes Include:
Ice time for one day only
Visitor Rates: $12/day for Learn to Skate USA skaters,* $25/day all other skaters*
*These rates are for Winter & Spring 2026 and may change at any time
Will receive news and updates on any additional skating opportunities
*Your application for a Membership, Visitors Pass or Coaching Privileges must be received, approved and all paperwork and payments received before skaters or coaches step onto the ice. Thank you in advance for your cooperation!
Figure Skating Development Classes
If you are a member of PSA Ice Time, please talk to your primary coach about any other classes that may enhance you skating. The current classes are being offered:
February 2026
Monday-Friday 5:15-5:45 am Morning Off Ice Class Coach Melissa
*Morning off ice class includes warm-ups, jump and spin technique, strength training foundations and some flexibility work.
Monday and Tuesday 8:15-9:00 am Morning On Ice Technique Class Coach Melissa
*This class will focus on edgework to develop jump technique and strength, jump technique and also some spin technique work.
Monday, Tuesday, Fridays 11:50-12:50 pm Off Ice Technique & On Ice Class Coach Melissa
*This class will begin on the floor to develop any jump, spin, strength or flexibility work that the skaters in the group need, and then we will go on the ice to continue working on these skills.
Each figure skating development class is offered through the individual coach. Please email the coach to see if there is space available and for their current pricing. Please also follow each coach’s payment policy.
